The Valldemossa Mountains
Hike the Talaia Vella of Valldemossa
Join me in some of the most idyllic landscapes of the Tramuntana Mountains. Includes part of the Arxiduc trail, as well as its viewpoints and refuge.
For this wonderful walk, we meet at the public car park in Valldemossa, where the long-distance buses also stop. In the nearby supermarket you can take the opportunity to buy drinks and snacks.
Then we set off and after just a few metres we leave the hustle and bustle and head into nature. We will have the unique opportunity to overlook the entire valley of Valldemossa, the famous "King's Plain".
We first enter the private estate "Son Moragues" and then continue our ascent.
From the mountain top of "Talaia Vella" we will also admire the most important mountains of the region, such as "Galatzo" and "Planicia". Weather permitting, we can even see the neighbouring island of Ibiza.
Our route takes us through the Vulture Mountain, which Martin's Walks has permission to enter and will organise access to. In a small local shop you will also have the opportunity to buy (seasonally) olive oil, honey and other local products. Optionally, the staff member can give us an insight into the work of the landscape stewardship, which includes reforestation and nest box construction.
In between, we stop to enjoy the view, take a break and refresh ourselves.
After about 4 hours (+/- 30min) we will be back in Valldemossa.
I am looking forward to hiking with you!
